Facial pain is one which is localised to the face defined as the part of the head that is limited by the hairline, front of the ear, lower and rear edge of the jaw. The diagnosis of facial pain is complex and accurate diagnosis is dependent on a clear history and investigations. It can be classified based on the duration and temporal course, the underlying pathophysiology, and characteristics of the pain. There are several causes of facial pain.
