Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
Overview
This is a condition which results in an abnormal increase in heart rate that occurs after sitting or standing up. It’s an abnormal increase in heart rate that occurs after sitting up or standing. It can be seen in patients with other conditions including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
Symptoms & Diagnosis
Some typical symptoms include dizziness, fainting and headaches. Review and investigations by Autonomic specialists are carried out as part of the diagnosis.
